Cinders mod
Carthus flame arc makes the sword even better. The demon's scar was the best catalyst (at least from what I could see) and the weapon art alone is enough to trivialize early game areas. With more levels I guess intelligence and faith would be the best to level, but 40/40 is a soft cap. My stats were 30 vigor, 40 attunement, 20 endurance, 8 vitality, 10 strength, 15 dex, 40 intelligence, and 40 faith. Sacred flame and profaned flame were also amazing. Each is enough to one shot most basic enemies including black knights. I used great chaos fire orb and cataclysm the most. The best build I've used so far is a pyromancy build. Bosses you beat just by avoiding all their attacks and shooting after a well timed roll. I can one shot any mob from across the map or directly in their face without them knowing. (this is comaprable to my high vitality high strength Black Knight Greataxe strength build which focuses on maximum AR with rings and weapon arts). Rinse and repeat.Įdit: with the right rings and 99 dex, my composite bow gets ~1300-1400 AR. After being attacked they will sort of know where you are for 1-2 seconds (before obscuring ring de-targets you from them). Shoot them once or twice and they are dead. You are now invisible to 95% of the enemies (other than bosses) and the damage is one of the highest in the game. If you really want to cheese the ab the Obscuring ring from Cathedral (Rosaria sells it for pale tongues), invest a lot into dex.

You can use 99% of strength weapons with almost full benefit and get extra damage from faith buffs(sacred oath, blessed weapon) and get to close to that 1k AR range(or above) with certain weapons. In the most current build I'm playing a strength/faith build(40/66 atm) and it is pretty powerful. You can get a relatively small mace or axe or a straight sword and infuse it with a blunt gem and use it only for boss fights to make things easier, if large weapons pose too much of a problem to play with. Bosses can pose more challenge with strength builds though because you leave yourself more open after attacks and stamina management is a bit harder in cinders than it is in vanilla. Easier to play and has better crowd control with big swings and higher damage. Quality is harder since you have to invest in 2 stats.Īs for a choice between Dex and Strength, I'd say pick the one you are most comfortable with, but as far as my own opinion goes, strength is overall better. I'd say a good old strength or dex build early on is the most bang for buck you can get.
So I can't suggest any of those.Įarly game is a bit tricky because I don't think there are raw gems anymore(nor reinforcement) so you'll have to invest in stats to increase your dps. I haven't tinkered with casting builds in cinders.
